Speed Reading Magazines

Magazines are great... but they are bulky and you can't carry around more than 1-2 magazines at a time. But in max 30 minutes you can prepare more than 5 magazines for reading by cutting out the most important stuff. Here's how I'm doing it:
Question: Did you ever try cutting out articles for speed reading? Do you think the 30 minute investment is too much in order to read just the most interesting and important stuff? What's your take on that?

I do just the opposite. I just rip out all the ads, reducing the weight of the remaining magazine by more than half. And, if you use paper magazines, please don't throw them out. Recycle them. I'm sure that's what Michael meant.

Yes Paul, that's what I meant :-) Your way of doing this is good, but I prefer to rip out articles I like. This way, I don't even look at the crappy articles and I make a conscious decision of what I really want to read.

Unfortunately, you cannot do that for digital editions which I use now on the iPad. On the plus side it allows me to carry as many magazines as I want without the bulk! I am surprised you have not moved onto this medium yet, Michael? Although, I suspect not all your favourite magazines are available on the iPad yet! Thanks

I do read magazines on the iPad, but still many of the ones I want to read in my home country are still in paper form... thus need to get a knife and cut'em :-) Thanks for your comment Michael and watch out for the Productive Magazine #8 coming to your iPad soon!

Speedreading is great - ProRead is better. ProRead is speed reading + higher comprehension rate and retention. This is a great method you can learn easily in 2 days training. All about it here: http://immediate-effects.com/en/proread

Reading has always been necessary but not always so much fun and fun only happens when you read fast enough to comprehend the material your reading

I like to cut out the articles and scan them in to my Evernote. Then I don't have to carry them but still have them everywhere I go! Keep up the good work, Michael!
